Differences from NitroTracker

The final release of the original NitroTracker, version 0.4, came out in July 2008. NitrousTracker was forked in 2020, while also incorporating many patches from other forks developed prior. As such, over the years it accumulated a considerable number of new features and changes.

The complete changelog is available here - the following summarizes the most important changes:

  • Effect command input and improved effect playback.
  • Full DSi mode support, including 16 MiB of RAM, built-in SD card support, and 16-bit microphone capture.
  • Theming support with many community-made themes bundled.
  • USB MIDI support with the use of certain cartridges.
  • Many stability improvements and optimizations.
